The first rule of book club is...
« on: August 29, 2016, 11:18:36 AM »
There are no rules! :P

I wanted to make this thread for a while but kept forgetting about it.

I was inspired to go buy some new books this morning ( another thing I've been wanting to do for a while. heh) to read thanks to @Sordid.

So...post any good books or what you're reading here if you feel so inclined.

Preferably things that can be purchased in print (I prefer to read physical books than pdfs personally, though feel free to post those as well if it's something worth reading!)

This is what I bought this morning.  :D

Here is a wonderful series i have read through several times:

Look up The Magicians by Lev Grossman. It is a 3 part story. The second is The Magician King and the third is The Magician's Land.

They are very thought provoking books but sadly fiction. Although the concepts presented in it about how magic is actually done is very novel (to me at least). And the first book gets interesting pretty fast so as to get you hooked lol.

I recommend those as well as the Golden Compass Series (His Dark Materials) by Phillip Pullman.

These are suggestions coming from just an enjoyment reading perspective, though i love to discuss stories because it provides insights to morals/human nature and provides a sense of wonderment for me that i dont really get from movies and the like.

I was actually looking at those books at the store but figured 2 was enough for today. :P

I just ordered a FarmTek Catalog from the website to get it in my hands and then I just ordered this baby:  Tompkins J. A., J. A. White, Y. A. Bozer and J. M. A. Tanchoco (2003).  Facilities Planning, Third Edition.  John Wiley & Sons.  i got it with 8 day shipping for like 25 bucks from Abebooks.com now for a textbook, that's a text book money saver.

I bought this book recently and am enjoying it so far. Thanks for the suggestion!

Definitely needed to brush up on my social skills as I have been a hermit for WAY too long and almost was starting to suffer from social tardism.  8)
