What is Theurgy?
Theurgy is the realization that every facet of reality is an archetype of a Form, or a God, and that proper manipulation of these archetypes achieves a result from that God. Communion to establish a relationship with the Force(s) that compose your reality.
It relies upon henosis, what many occultists refer to as the state of mind where every act is a magickal act. Those deep, meaningful experiences are glimpses of that state, and music provides the bridge to experience that state enough to know it and summon it at will. High Magick.
The ancient mysteries taught that music affects reality, and that by combining the human voice with music (while singing of the correct archetypes) a sorcerer is able to cultivate a relationship
with an overseer of reality. Hence ancient music always having lyric extolling a God.
It is no different in the modern world, the Gods simply chose concealment so now their priests and musicians extol them through metaphor—through forked tongue
. I mean composers of any kind, classical or rap or mother goose poem. A theurgist seeks to study the Gods’ archetypes enough to identify the Form behind something, regardless if the medium is a song, a movie character, a novel, a person in your life, your self
Rap is useful for learning because it tends to forego the poetic metaphors, their emotion or ego is the carrier, so it can be easier to interpret. Ice Ice Baby is a wonderful example. He begins the song telling you exactly what he’s using the song for, and his intentionally crafted ego mirrors and invokes a particular God.
Collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop?
Yo, I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme, I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle
My town, that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground
'Cause my style's like a chemical spill
Feasible rhymes you can vision and feel
Some songs like “She’s So High” or “Burnin’ Love” are easy to prove that it’s about a celestial entity instead of some human lover. A fun one is “La Vida Loca,” this site’s older forum shared it discussing the amount of energy it invokes. “Come on Eileen” is a personal favorite.
