In celebration of Pioneer Day in Utah (Pie and Beer Day for me), a celebration day that commemorates the Mormons arriving in the Salt Lake Valley, this program discussed Utah myths, legends and folklore. The stories are Mormon and Utah centric so it may or may not be interesting for others who read on this forum.

There were several tales covered that I find particularly interesting. One idea that I hadn't heard bouncing around my Utah community is the story that Bigfoot is Cain, cursed to live and wander forever in a fallen state. Another idea that piqued my interest was the idea that some of the Mormon people went underground at some point in time and may someday re-emerge. The LDS Church has a vault built into granite mountain in one of our canyons here. I love to speculate about that place, what's in there, what's connected to it, etc. I know a guy who claims he worked there translating documents.

That same guy also claims to have a copy of the Spalding manuscript which may predate Joseph Smith's Book of Mormon and the story is that Sidney Rigdon and Joseph Smith took (stole, plaigerized) that manuscript and tranformed it into the text that became the Book of Mormon. When I asked to see it, he was really surprised that I knew what it was and quickly changed the subject.

Quote
"In 1832, Orson Hyde visited Conneaut, Ohio, and preached from the Book of Mormon. Nehemiah King, a resident of Conneaut, who knew Spalding when he lived there, felt that the Mormon text resembled the story written by Spalding years before. In 1833, Spalding's brother John and seven other residents of Conneaut signed affidavits stating that Spalding had written a manuscript, portions of which were identical to the Book of Mormon. Spalding's widow told a similar story, and stated that "the names of Nephi and Lehi are yet fresh in my memory, as being the principal heroes of his tale." These statements were published in E. D. Howe's 1834 book Mormonism Unvailed.

If anyone has 500 to spare.

Apparently there are some pretty impossible to find first-hand accounts of vampires in that book the people who have read it have said it's easily the best vampire book ever read not in the Anne Rice way more in the how to way..
From a Goodreads review:

A serious parapsychologist and occult researcher (he was responsible for unmasking the so-called "Amityville Horror" as a hoax), Dr. Kaplan is the founder of the Vampire Research Center, located on Long Island, for the scientific study of all phenomena related to vampirism. This nonfiction book gives a basic introduction, in an engaging and popular style, to the fruits of the Center's years of research. Fans of fictional vampires might (or might not!) be disappointed to learn that he hasn't unearthed any verified instances of any actual, Undead supernatural vampires --though the book does describe his series of unverified phone conversations with a female caller who claimed to have been made a vampire in 16th-century England and to be presently preying on humans in Florida. He does, though, supply a good compendium of vampire lore, history of ideas about vampires, possible scientific explanations for vampire-like phenomena observed in the past and present, and a look at the modern cultural phenomenon of living people who adopt various vampire-like behaviors. An indispensable starting point for any reader with an interest in the nonfictional aspects of this subject!

I have some interesting info in my notes. Here's one thought, who knows where it comes from:

"The Circle of Fifths is a map to the 12 dimensional existences. The next dimension, the closet in harmony is the 5th in one direction, and the 4th in the other. Augmented 4th or diminished 5th is a wall that blocks all. The pivot that is uninhabitable."

Previous to this incarnation of the board we had discussions about how the concurrently using 5ths may help open portals. I have a note saying, "If we were to listen to a steady, pleasing chord of a fifth, we are mentally conditioning ourselves to perceive the next dimension." There was some talk of this (I can't remember if they were using 5ths or just two notes) in the Hellier series.

Some other thoughts from my notes:

"Our frequencies have timbre just like instruments. Our timbre is part of what defines us as characters."

"The Mayans knew a secret about dimensions, there is a sacred space at the end of a musical scale. Modern Music divides the space 12 ways and spreads it across the scale so scales seem to be in tune for each key."

Episode 109 of The Black Tapes podcast titled, "Name that Tune," includes information about Alexander Scriabin, shephard tones, the Pythagorean comma, etc. Here's a link: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Swerdlow irritates me because I'm not quite sure if he's telling the truth or not but he continually embarrasses the movement with his histrionic presentations for example when he told Jesse Ventura he was going to time travel in front of them and then just closed his eyes and said hey I just went to X and came back...

I've seen people do similar things...let me go consult with god...closes eyes...opens eyes with a great revelation. Me = rolls eyes. Hmmm, I'll keep that in mind when considering Swerdlow's info.
