a legal client-cum-comrade Charlie Walker (and later his progeny), from willie's civil rights attorney days;
oh and that guy that charismatic visionary head of the housing board Jim Jones. He reliably shook the trees and got the motor voters to show (before it was a term) in exchange for willie's M.C. skills, would ensure plenty of campaign volunteers quid pro quo for access to political contacts, and inevitably ran the housing committee for SF at one point (later to be investigated for human rights abuses ? still digging and getting it sorted. But that actually is in the 90's and involved Charlie walker and his daughter, obviously JJ bit the bullet as the story goes...)

if this is correct.... can anyone tell me why the clare and her mom and sister when divorced and out of dad's place, rather than going back to bartending in a u.k. pub like before (or even living off the wealth from divorce) went and spent a few years tagging along with the leakeys at dig sites in africa looking for australopithicus and other hominid remains? I mean how does one go from something to next THAT particular endeavor? (for those that don't know the leakey's they were /are anthropologist husband and wife that are credited with discovering the remains of "lucy". (shit i wonder if that last word there answers the question itself))
