It came up in another thread that we need a contingency for communication in the unlikely event of an internet shutdown. Ham radio is the only non-digital means of communication available to all with the appropriate gear, and therefore ideal.

in order to legally operate you are supposed to register and they give you a license.

you would have shocked a good ham friend of mine . good kits out there to build some skill required but yep they would narc in a second there are no code licenses but you know licenses control you so yep phuk em Stay Safe and good idea tho gave my radio away damn should have hung on may look into a good kit chinese cheapo . Hackrf sells but requires laptop
