[the]story combined a bleak atmosphere with elements of the surreal in portraying struggles between good and evil and between free will and destiny. The show's mythology drew upon themes and motifs from traditional Christianity and gnosticism together with Masonic lore, particularly that of the Knights Templar order.
Sounds promising. I'll check it out and type out my thoughts later.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Only real show I’ve come across that tackles this and does it well, whilst still remaining entertaining.
Don’t watch tv these days but I caught the show back in 2007 and recently revisited it since I’ve gone down the path I have.
Low and behold, it echoes everything we talk about on here, mostly.
I’ll be waiting (patiently) and eagerly to any who give it a go and pick up the things I have, and relate it back here.
