First off. I would like to apologize for any misgivings during my last time being active on  this site, especially to nrg/nick. I talked alot of crap, and got banned. I have since seen/experienced alot and have focused myself in new ways.

If I am honest, I never stopped visiting the site. I have found many valuable leads through the things posted here. If anyone is curious, my old handle here was "Sordid" which was, admittedly an unsavory choice but in hindsight was how I felt about myself. I had shit to deal with, that I have mostly dealt with now.

I look forward to being part of the discussions that take place here, and hopefully will be able to contribute in meaningful ways instead of asking endless questions (aka expecting to be spoonfed).

Thank you! Something I want to mention, your descriptions of visualization and how it has to be trained was something I found hard to digest (before I could do it in any meaningful way), but I stuck with it, and now recently, after years of almost no progress it felt like, have seen a great uptick in my ability. I credit the spark of inspiration to you guys here!

Glad to hear it. Visualization is most definetely incrementally developed but when you can start conjuring detailed mental images of people you just invented the world is yours.

Not quite there, but am at the point of visualizing landscapes of a "fractal" quality that is constantly shifting in myriad ways, or creating still images that can serve as a base for dream-states, or detailed images of objects in a black void.

Dreams are a mess for me still, I need to keep up on my journal so I can progress further towards lucidity and, eventually astral projection. I know there is not much of a difference between the two, but to me lucidity is a more self-directed experience.

When it comes to visualization try and stay away from the abstract stuff like fractals for now and focus on photorealistic image visualization that will get you where you want to go the fastest

When you visualize, do you have to do it in first person or third person view? Because visualizing things in first person is what I find most challenging.  When I close my eyes and try to visualize I end up seeing myself from behind in 3rd person

Also, is closed eye visualization better than with your eyes open?

Great question...

1st person but dont picture it in your mind...picture it here in the real world. For some people that's really tough so starting off visualizing  in your mind is fine but eventually the goal is to visualize it  not internally but externally

'Where' exactly are you when you visualize in your mind and when you close your eyes? Another higher plane? Are our 'imaginations' and what takes place in 'the mind' all taking place on a higher plane we also simultaneously exist on?

If that is the case, then I think it would make sense that you ultimately have to visualize it 'here' with your eyes open. When you do that, you do it 'here' but also on all the planes above.

You are one sharp dude and others here as well !!  Never have you steered this site wrong when things I understand you've explained .You put your mind  your will your breath out in the Spirit realm. Can I explain how I will it ? Holding a Ball out front of you ,imagine that. Breathe into that ball sense feel see that breath, breathe in between those hands feel the ball expand see yourself in between that space in the spirit realm you must do that. Holding that Ball feel it. Few minutes maybe bit longer for some ,differing sensations happen the ball expands & then will contract  breathing out may feel electric, or magnetic then a buffering solid area of space between the hands get that mind there in that realm give some time put your mind in it . later you can have the ball surrounding yourself and bathe in that, Anyway thank you all!  Stay Safe
